More Than Meets the Eye: Flyers/Preds Dealings

The Philadelphia Flyers jumped the gun on the free agency logjam that was set to begin July 1st. For those just emerging from under their respective rocks, the Flyers acquired the rights to forward Scott Hartnell and defenseman Kimmo Timonen in exchange for the Predators first round pick (23rd overall) in the 2007 NHL entry draft. Flyers Make a Steal of a Deal

tsn.ca is reporting that the Philadelphia Flyers have acquired defensman Kimo Timonen and forward Scott Hartnell from Nashville in exchange for a first-round pick that originally belonged to the Predators. That is quite simply a steal for the Flyers, who then probably overpaid the going rate to sign both players. Read on...
